Lake People G101 Headphone Amplifier
The G101 is the small end of the Lake People headphone range, a 105 x 38 x 128 mm desktop unit powered from a USB-C line rather than a mains supply. Two power op-amps drive both a 6.3 mm jack and a 3.5 mm jack, so a monitor headphone and an in-ear can stay plugged in at the same time. Sources arrive on gold-plated RCA connectors at 10 kOhm.
What separates it from other amps this size is PRE-GAIN. Jumpers on the rear set overall gain in 4 stages, so the amplifier is matched to the headphone impedance in use, anywhere from 8 to 600 ohms, before the volume control is touched. Output impedance is 0.1 ohm and the signal to noise ratio measures -102 dBu A-weighted. The case is machined aluminum and the unit is built in Germany. The USB-C supply is not included.
