Datavideo DAC-70
The DAC-70 is a 10-bit up, down, and cross converter that bridges gear that would otherwise refuse to connect. It scales and converts SD, HD, and 3G-SDI signals across formats up to 1080p60, taking in SDI, HDMI, or VGA and putting the result out on two SDI ports and one HDMI at the same time, so it doubles as a small distribution amplifier for the converted feed.
You can keep the source's embedded audio or add an external analog source, and up to eight channels of embedded audio ride through. Picture controls for brightness, contrast, hue, and saturation are adjustable from the DAC Center utility over a USB connection to a Windows PC, and a mini-USB port takes firmware updates for future formats. Eight DAC-70 units drop into the optional RMK-2 rack frame for a tidy 2RU install.
