Blackmagic HyperDeck Extreme 8K HDR
The HyperDeck Extreme 8K HDR is a broadcast deck that records and plays back all the way up to 8K, reaching 4320p60 in Apple ProRes. It includes everything in the 4K model and adds an HDR touchscreen with scopes and quad-link 12G-SDI, which ties multiple 12G-SDI cables together for 8K sources; the same connections drop to single link for SD, HD and Ultra HD, so one deck covers a facility's full range of formats.
Media lives on two CFast card slots plus a USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 expansion port for recording to external drives, and cards can be formatted as ExFAT or HFS+ for easy access on Mac and Windows. The deck tags files with the correct HDR information and its SDI and HDMI inputs automatically detect HDR standards, handling static PQ and HLG metadata to the ST2084 standard. G&G stocks it as Blackmagic part number BMD-HYPERD/RSTEX8KHDR.
