Black Box VG-DVI DVI-D EDID Ghost
Graphics cards decide what to output based on the EDID they can read, and anything sitting between the source and the screen - a KVM switch, a splitter, a long extender - can hide it. The result is a source that falls back to a default resolution well below what the display can do. The EDID Ghost sits in the DVI path, learns the EDID from the display and presents it to the source, so the machine boots with the correct settings every time.
It records and stores up to fifteen different sets of EDID data, will show either the default or the copied EDID for the connected display, and supports resolutions to 2560 x 1600. EDID learning also keeps computers from deactivating ports that appear to have nothing attached. A built-in rotary switch lets you select and compare video resolutions by hand.
