AJA ADA4 4-channel Bidirectional Audio A/D And D/A Converter
The ADA4 is a 4-channel audio converter that adapts to the job in front of it. It can run as a 4-channel A/D, a 4-channel D/A, a split 2-channel A/D plus 2-channel D/A, or as an AES synchronizer, moving between the analog and digital audio worlds at 24-bit resolution and 48 or 96 kHz. Analog audio uses balanced XLR connectors, one channel per connector, while AES audio uses balanced 110 ohm XLR connectors carrying two channels each.
Reference handling is automatic: the ADA4 accepts an AES11, wordclock, or video sync (color black) reference for locking to a facility, with a passive looping reference and a separate AES sync output. Operating levels are set with accessible DIP switches across standard references such as +24 dBu (SMPTE RP155), +18 dBu (EBU R68), +15 dBu, and +10 dBV. The unit runs on 5 to 18 VDC (about 3 watts) from the included universal power supply.
