Audio-Technica U853RU

The U853RU is a UniLine line-cardioid condenser hanging microphone from Audio-Technica's UniPoint installed-sound line. Hung over a choir, orchestra, theater stage, or altar, its narrow 90-degree acceptance angle reaches down into the group and rejects sound arriving off-axis, delivering strong gain before feedback with discreet, even coverage. UniGuard RFI shielding keeps it quiet near wireless gear and dimmers.

The capsule threads onto the included AT8538 power module, which carries an XLRM output and a recessed switch for flat response or an 80 Hz low-frequency roll-off. It runs on 11 to 52V phantom power and accepts interchangeable UniPoint elements for other patterns. An AT8154 two-stage foam windscreen, AT8451 steel hanger, and AT8438 stand adapter are included.
