Audio-Technica U857QLU
The U857QLU is a UniLine condenser quick-mount gooseneck microphone from Audio-Technica's UniPoint installed-sound line, built to plug straight into a panel- or desk-mounted XLRF connector at a lectern, conference table, courtroom, or house of worship. Its UniLine line-cardioid element has a tightly focused 90 degree acceptance angle that reaches out to a talker while turning away room reflections and loudspeaker wash, which holds off feedback in reverberant spaces. UniGuard RFI shielding rejects interference from phones and wireless systems, and a UniSteep filter cuts low-frequency rumble.
At 23.74 inches long, the robust gooseneck bends easily into shape yet resists being knocked out of position. The mic runs on 11 to 52V phantom power over a low-impedance balanced output, and it accepts interchangeable elements (UE-C cardioid, UE-H hypercardioid, UE-O omnidirectional) to reset its acceptance angle from 90 to 360 degrees.
