Audio-Technica U853PMU Condenser Hanging Microphone
The U853PMU is a hanging condenser microphone that suspends over choirs, orchestras, theater stages, and altars for discreet, even coverage from above. It uses Audio-Technica's UniLine line-cardioid element, whose narrow 90-degree acceptance angle and strong off-axis rejection deliver high gain before feedback in a live room, and it accepts interchangeable elements if a different pattern is needed later.
A 25-foot captive cable ends in a TA3F connector that mates with the included AT8534 wall/ceiling plate power module, which mounts in a standard single-gang electrical box and carries switches for an 80 Hz UniSteep roll-off and a +10 dB gain boost. UniGuard shielding fends off RF interference. The mic ships with the AT8534 power module, an AT8154 two-stage foam windscreen, an AT8451 steel hanger, and an AT8438 stand adapter, and runs on 11 to 52V phantom power.
