Audio-Technica AT5045 Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone
The AT5045 is the single-element member of Audio-Technica's 50 Series, a side-address cardioid condenser in a slim stick body that fits where a large studio mic will not. A rectangular large-diaphragm element gives it the body and low-end weight of a side-address studio mic while the narrow housing lets you place it tight on a hi-hat, an acoustic guitar, a piano lid or a drum overhead.
It handles 149 dB SPL, 1 kHz at 1% T.H.D before distortion, so close-miking a snare or a horn section does not overload it, and the 8 dB SPL self-noise floor keeps quiet passages clean. Powering is 48V DC, 1.4 mA typical over the integral 3-pin XLRM output. It ships with the AT8481 isolation clamp for 5/8"-27 stands, an AT8165 windscreen and a protective case.
