Audio-Technica AT8024 Stereo/Mono Camera-Mount Microphone
The AT8024 is a camera-mount condenser that switches between a line-cardioid mono mode and an internally matrixed mid-side stereo mode, so one microphone covers both a focused dialogue shot and a wider ambient stereo capture. It runs on a single AA battery and includes an integral shoe mount, so it attaches directly to a DSLR or camcorder without a separate bracket.
A three-position attenuator (0, -10, -20 dB) keeps loud sources from overloading the input, and a switchable low-frequency roll-off cuts room rumble and handling noise. It is a practical run-and-gun solution for shooters who need on-camera audio without carrying a separate field recorder.
