Audio-Technica AT8022 X/Y Stereo Microphone
The AT8022 puts two condenser capsules in a fixed X/Y stereo configuration inside one microphone body, giving field recordists and location sound mixers a mono-compatible stereo image without aligning two separate mics on a bar. It runs on either 11-52V phantom power or a single AA battery, so it works on a mixer, recorder, or camera without a dedicated power supply.
A switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter cuts handling rumble and wind noise on location, and the balanced output splits to two 3-pin XLRM connectors off a 5-pin XLRF cable, feeding a standard two-channel input. Battery life runs roughly 700 hours on an alkaline AA, long enough for extended field days without a change.
