AKG HM1000 High-performance Hanging Module
The HM1000 is the hanging module in AKG's DAM series: the powered body that a CK-series capsule screws onto so a microphone can be flown over a choir, an orchestra or a conference table on its own cable. The capsule is chosen separately, so one module covers cardioid, hypercardioid or omni depending on what the room needs.
It runs on anything from 9 to 52 volts of phantom power, which means it works off a mixer, a wall-plate preamp or a DSP input without a special supply. Output is balanced XLR. A 250 Hz bass-cut filter is built in to take out the low-frequency rumble that a suspended mic picks up from HVAC and building structure. The body is 50 mm tall and finished in matte dark gray so it disappears against a ceiling.
