AKG D112 MkII Dynamic Bass Drum Microphone
The D112 MkII is the long-standing standard for miking a kick drum. Its large-diaphragm dynamic capsule handles enormous sound pressure - over 160 dB SPL - so it stays clean right inside the shell, and a carefully tuned response gives a deep low end with a narrow presence peak around 4 kHz that brings out beater attack and click without added EQ.
The MkII adds an integrated flexible mount that positions the microphone inside the drum and reduces stand clutter on a tight stage. Beyond kick, its low-frequency reach and high SPL handling suit bass cabinets, trombone, and other big low-end sources. The rugged die-cast body is built for the road.
