Yamaha HS8 Powered Studio Monitor
The Yamaha HS8 is the largest two-way monitor in the HS line, pairing an 8-inch cone woofer with a 1-inch dome tweeter and a 75W low-frequency plus 45W high-frequency amplifier for 120W total. The bigger driver reaches down to 38 Hz, so it shows low-end detail that the 5- and 6.5-inch models cannot, making it a common choice for mixing bass-heavy material without a subwoofer.
Like the rest of the range it is voiced flat and revealing rather than hyped, so mixes translate to other systems. Rear ROOM CONTROL and HIGH TRIM switches adapt it to the room, XLR and TRS inputs accept balanced or unbalanced sources, and a mitered, three-way bass-reflex port keeps air noise low at high output. It is offered in black or white, with install (I) versions adding four-surface mounting points.
