VariZoom VZ-ROCK-DVX Zoom Controller for Panasonic Camcorders

The VariZoom VZ-ROCK-DVX is a compact zoom controller built specifically for Panasonic camcorders that carry a 2.5mm remote jack. Its pressure-sensitive, side-to-side rocker works the way broadcast operators expect: press lightly for a slow, sustainable creep and harder for a quick push, so zoom moves ramp smoothly instead of snapping between speeds. A wider sweep than VariZoom's Stealth rocker gives finer control across the range.

Alongside the zoom rocker sits a record start/stop button, so the operator can roll and stop tape without reaching for the camera body. The controller plugs into the jack labeled REMOTE on compatible Panasonic DV ProLine bodies (this is not a LANC device) and weighs about a quarter pound, light enough to ride on a pan handle without unbalancing the rig.
