Vinten VB3-FTGS Ground-spreader

VB3-FTGS is the ground-spreader build of Vinten's Vision blue3 system: the blue3 fluid head on flowtech75 carbon fibre legs with a removable ground spreader. The head takes 3.0 to 6.6 kg on a 75 mm ball and balances it with Perfect Balance counterbalance and LF drag that are both infinitely adjustable, not stepped - you dial in the exact rig rather than settling for the closest notch. Tilt covers ±90 degrees, pan turns a full 360, and the blue LED levelling bubble reads in a dark studio.

The ground spreader locks the leg spread at floor level, which is what you want on a stage, a studio floor, or any flat surface where the footprint should be fixed and repeatable. Pull it off and the flowtech legs will still go low: with the spreader fitted the tripod works from about 16 to 62 inches. Each leg has a single flip-lock brake at the top, so extending or dropping the tripod is a standing-height job, and the legs carry 20 kg on their own.
