Tightrope Cablecast CBL-SVR430-VOD-UPG10 Automation and VOD Server Upgrade

The CBL-SVR430-VOD is the Cablecast Pro VOD server, the central automation and video-on-demand engine for a multi-channel plant. Rather than carrying its own baseband playout channels, it runs the scheduling and automation database and controls external playout servers and routing switchers, firing frame-accurate commands to the right device for each program.

On the VOD side it transcodes scheduled shows and publishes them for internet streaming automatically, so on-demand programming appears on a station's website without a manual export. Housed in a 2RU chassis with front-accessible RAID drives, it supports the full Carousel bulletin-board framework and dozens of serial-controlled routing and record devices.
