Teradek Serv 4K Streaming Encoder
Serv 4K takes a 12G-SDI feed - with loop-through so it doesn't steal the only output off a camera - and encodes it in HEVC or AVC at up to 4K with 10-bit 4:2:2 HDR and DCI-P3/PQ color, then streams it two ways at once. Locally, up to four devices can watch over the unit's own Wi-Fi with zero internet dependency, which covers a director, a DP, and a couple of producers standing near set. When it does have a connection - its own Wi-Fi uplink or cellular bonding through the Serv App - it also pushes the same feed to the Teradek TV cloud or Frame.io, so unlimited viewers anywhere can watch live or pull dailies without a separate ingest step.
The 2024/v2 refresh improved cooling so the fan runs about 50% quieter than the previous Serv 4K, added a clearer OLED display with directional navigation buttons, and reworked the mounting points for easier cart integration. Security is 256-bit encryption end to end on both the local and cloud paths, and the two included 2dBi Wi-Fi antennas cover the 2.4/5.8 GHz bands the unit uses for its own hotspot and uplink.
