Sony UTX-P40 Wireless Plug-On Transmitter (UC90)
The UTX-P40 is a wireless XLR plug-on transmitter that makes almost any wired microphone cordless. Screw it onto a handheld dynamic for man-on-the-street interviews, or onto a shotgun for wireless booming, and its 3-pin female XLR connector carries the audio into Sony's UWP-D chain. Proprietary digital audio processing rides on top of the proven analog UHF link for clean, natural sound with the low latency field crews rely on.
A switchable 48V supply powers condenser microphones, NFC sync pairs the transmitter to a URX-P40 or other compatible UWP-D receiver with a tap, and tuning spans a 72 MHz band with 2,772 selectable UHF frequencies to find clear spectrum. This UC90 unit tunes 941-960 MHz, runs up to six hours on two AA batteries, and works line of sight out to roughly 330 feet. It is a component transmitter, sold without a receiver.
