Sachtler System FSB 18T Mk II ENG CF MS

The 1483M is Sachtler's FSB 18T Mk II ENG CF MS package, built around the FSB 18T Mk II fluid head on carbon fibre legs. It carries 0 kg to 18 kg (0 lb to 39.68 lb) at a 100 mm centre of gravity on a 100 mm bowl. Balance and damping are stepped rather than continuous: 15 + 0 counterbalance steps and 7 + 0 drag settings on each axis, so a rig can be matched exactly and then repeated on the next shoot. Tilt runs 90° to -70° with 70 mm (2.76 in) of travel to find the balance point.

Set up it works between 66 cm to 168 cm (25.98 in to 66.14 in), and folds to 89 cm (35.04 in) for transport. The complete system weighs 7.1 kg (15.65 lb). Levelling is by an illuminated PrismBubble. Sachtler rates the head from -40°C to 60°C (-40 °F to 140 °F), so the fluid does not thicken in the cold.
