Rode Deadcat Artificial Fur Wind Shield
The RODE Deadcat is an artificial-fur windshield that slips over a shotgun microphone to knock down the low-frequency rumble wind creates as it passes across the capsule. The long synthetic pile breaks up moving air before it reaches the microphone, so outdoor dialogue and effects stay clean instead of buffeting, while the fur stays acoustically transparent enough to leave the high end intact.
It is sized for RODE's on-camera and shotgun microphones, fitting the VideoMic along with the NTG1, NTG2, NTG3 and NTG3-B. Pull it over the foam windscreen already on the mic for the highest wind protection, then pair it with a pistol grip and boompole to build a full location kit.
