Rode Boompole Telescopic Microphone Boom Pole
The RODE Boompole is a precision-balanced, five-section telescopic pole machined from lightweight aluminium, built to place a shotgun microphone over the action without the operator or the rig entering frame. A 3/8"-16 thread at the tip accepts a pistol grip or shock mount, and the balanced construction keeps the microphone steady through a long take so a boom operator can follow a moving subject with minimal fatigue.
Smooth twist collars lock and release each section, letting you dial in reach from a tight interior to a full 3.3 metre extension. The microphone cable runs along the outside of the pole and can be secured with the optional Boompole Clips to stop it slapping during a move. It is a standard fixture on film, television and documentary sets where a NTG-series shotgun rides overhead.
