NETGEAR M4250-10G2XF-PoE+ AV Switch (GSM4212PX)

The M4250-10G2XF-PoE+ (NETGEAR part GSM4212PX) is the small end of the AV Line: eight gigabit PoE+ ports with a 240 W budget, two more gigabit ports for gear that brings its own power, and two SFP+ cages for a 1G or 10G fiber uplink back to the core. Eight PoE ports at 30 W each is the right size for a single room or a rack feeding a handful of Dante endpoints, NDI converters, or PTZ cameras, and the ports face the rear so a rack of AV gear stays clean.

What separates this from a generic managed switch is the software. NETGEAR's AV Line GUI drops the CLI in favor of one-click profiles for the protocol you are actually running, so VLANs, QoS, and multicast settings for audio, video, and control traffic get applied correctly instead of hand-typed. IGMP Plus handles Layer 2 multicast across interconnected switches without standing up PIM, which is what makes AV-over-IP video distribution survive contact with a real network. AVB is supported with an electronic license. It runs fanless when thermals allow (39.22 dB at 25 C otherwise) and is covered by NETGEAR's limited lifetime hardware warranty.
