JBL Professional JBL 305P MkII Powered two-way studio monitor, bi-amplified
The 305P MkII is the compact monitor in JBL's 3 Series MkII: a 5-inch woofer and a 1-inch soft-dome tweeter, each on its own 41 W Class D amplifier, crossed at 1,725 Hz with a fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley network. Response runs 49 Hz to 20 kHz within 3 dB and it will hit 108 dB peak. The Image Control Waveguide is the reason these monitors sound the way they do off-axis: it is the same geometry JBL developed for the M2 master reference monitor, and it keeps the stereo image stable when you move out of the exact sweet spot. Coverage is 120 degrees horizontal by 90 degrees vertical.
Rear-panel controls include an HF trim of -2, 0 or +2 dB and a boundary EQ shelf at 50 Hz for -3, -1.5 or 0 dB, which is what you use when the monitor has to sit close to a wall. Inputs are balanced XLR and TRS. The cabinet is 15 mm MDF in matte black PVC with an injection-moulded ABS baffle. At 10.4 lb each these fit a desk or a small room without dominating it.
