Heil Sound PR 35 Supercardioid Dynamic Handheld Vocal Microphone
The PR 35 is Heil's handheld for live vocals, built on the same large dynamic element philosophy as the studio PR mics. The supercardioid pattern rejects -35 dB at 180 degrees, which is what lets a singer stand in front of wedges without the mic feeding back, and the response is voiced warm through the presence region rather than peaky.
A low-end roll-off switch on the body changes the response from 40 Hz - 18 kHz to 80 Hz - 18 kHz, so the same microphone can go from a full-bodied studio vocal to a tight stage vocal that stays out of the kick drum's way. The body carries a rubberized exterior for grip and handling, the output is 370 ohms balanced on a 3-pin XLR, and the whole thing weighs 9 oz.
