Fujinon XA20x4.1BMA 20x Zoom Lens with Optical Image Stabilizer
The XA20x4.1BMA is Fujinon's stabilized 20x zoom for 1/3-inch HD shoulder cameras, the lens JVC pairs with its ProHD bodies. Its 4.1mm to 82mm range is about 29mm to 580mm in 35mm terms, so a single lens takes you from the wide establishing shot in a room you cannot back out of to a tight head-and-shoulders from the far end of a hall. Maximum aperture is F1.6 at the wide end and F3.0 at 82mm.
The optical image stabilizer is what makes the long end usable handheld or off the shoulder, and chromatic aberration correction keeps color fringing under control on high-contrast edges when you are pushed all the way in. The zoom is servo-driven while focus and iris stay on manual rings, so the operator keeps direct control of exposure and focus. It mounts on the 1/3-inch B4 bayonet and accepts 72mm screw-in filters.
