Electro-Voice HM2 Cardioid Condenser Headworn Microphone
The HM2 is a hands-free vocal microphone for people who need to move: lead vocalists, singing instrumentalists, dancers, fitness instructors and presenters. A miniature electret condenser element with a cardioid pattern keeps floor wedges, nearby instruments and crowd noise out of the mix, and the supplied open-pore windscreen takes the edge off wind noise and plosives.
EV voiced it to behave like a handheld vocal mic rather than a flat lavalier, so it keeps the proximity-effect warmth singers expect - move the element closer to the mouth for more of it, further away for less. The behind-the-head band and flexible boom adjust to any head size, the boom descends from the right under protective shrink tubing, and a permanently attached 1.2 m cable ends in a Switchcraft TA4F plug for EV bodypack transmitters.
