Crown XLS 2002 DriveCore 2 Power Amplifier
The XLS 2002 runs 650 W per side at 4 ohms on Crown's DriveCore output stage, which keeps the chassis light and the power draw modest for the level it produces. Bridged at 4 ohms the DriveCore 2 series reaches 2400 W, leaving headroom rather than running a portable system into its limiters all night.
The front-panel LCD is three times the size of the previous generation and fronts more DSP than the older XLS carried, so crossover and limiting get set at the amplifier instead of upstream. It is aimed squarely at portable PA work where the rack has to be carried in by hand.
