Crestron USB-EXT-2 USB over Category Cable Extender
USB runs out of reach at about 15 ft, which is a problem in any room where the codec sits in a rack and the camera or touch device sits on the table. The USB-EXT-2 pair carries USB 1.1 and 2.0 point to point up to 330 ft over a single solid-core CAT5e or better cable, at full 480 Mbps, and supports mass storage and isochronous devices rather than just keyboards and mice.
The local endpoint presents a USB Type B port to the host computer, media server, codec, or console; the remote endpoint presents two USB Type A ports supplying 1 A each and 1.5 A total. A signal chain may include up to four USB hubs plus the pair, for a maximum of 30 devices. Both ends carry Activity, Host, Link, and Power LEDs, and each ships with a 24 VDC supply. Order the kit for both halves, or a single endpoint to replace or extend an existing installation.
