Crestron CLC-1LEDPWM-RGBW-EX RGBW LED Controller, infiNET EX
The CLC-1LEDPWM-RGBW-EX drives four independently controlled channels of RGBW LED at 12 to 24 VDC, matched to the tape or fixture it is feeding. Run as colour it does accent and mood lighting on architectural features; run as four whites it becomes a tunable general illumination channel. Total capacity is 4 Amps, with over-current protection on the output.
The part worth checking on any PWM controller is the frequency, because a low one beats against a camera shutter and shows as banding. This one defaults to 1,000 Hz and is configurable from 24 Hz to 1,200 Hz, so it can be set clear of the frame rate in a room that will be filmed. Outputs land on six 2-pin 3.5 mm detachable terminal blocks, power comes in on another at 24 VDC, and a single pushbutton covers test and acquire modes with a red and green status LED beside it. infiNET EX is a 2-way 2.4 GHz mesh on IEEE 802.15.4 channels 11 to 26, in which each device relays for the others, so coverage improves as the system grows rather than degrading. An infiNET EX gateway is required and is sold separately.
