Chauvet DJ Data Stream 8

Data Stream 8 is a splitter with two inputs rather than one, and that is the reason to choose it. Input A and B are both live simultaneously, and a master three-position switch sends either one to all eight outputs at once. Individual two-position switches then override any single branch to the other input, which is how a backup console or a separate architectural feed gets patched in without repatching cable.

Each of the eight outputs is optically isolated from the others, so a short on one branch does not take the rig down. It also boosts the incoming signal rather than just passing it. The unit is 1U at 19 x 5.2 x 1.7 inches, weighs 4.6 lb, draws 2 W, and has a threaded insert for securing it directly to truss when there is no rack.
