Canon Extender RF 2x
The Extender RF 2x mounts between a compatible RF telephoto and an EOS R body to multiply the lens focal length by two, turning a 400mm into an 800mm and a 600mm into a 1200mm without the bulk of a second lens. Full communication between lens and camera is preserved through the extender, so autofocus, image stabilization, metering, and Exif data all keep working, and it doubles maximum magnification for tighter close-up framing as well.
A nine-element, five-group optical design with high-refraction, low-dispersion glass and updated coatings holds chromatic aberration and ghosting in check across the frame. The barrel is dust- and water-resistant with a heat-shielding exterior for long outdoor sessions. It attaches only to select RF lenses: the RF100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM, RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM, RF400mm F2.8L IS USM, RF600mm F4L IS USM, RF600mm F11 IS STM, RF800mm F5.6L IS USM, RF800mm F11 IS STM, and RF1200mm F8L IS USM.
