CAD Audio CAD D90 Premium Supercardioid Dynamic Handheld Microphone
The D90 is CAD's step-up handheld dynamic vocal mic. The supercardioid pattern is tighter than a cardioid and keeps the wedge in front of the singer out of the capsule, which is the difference between usable gain-before-feedback and a shrieking monitor on a loud stage.
Inside is a TrueFlex diaphragm on a PowerGap high-gauss neodymium magnet, giving -51 dBV (2.8 mV) at 1 Pa - a hot enough output that a quiet voice does not need the preamp opened up into hiss. Response runs 50 Hz to 16 kHz into a 500 ohm load, and the mic takes more than 150 dB SPL, so a screamed vocal at two inches is not going to trouble it. The body is metal and built for the drops that come with touring.
