The GXL1200 is CAD's entry point into the GXL condenser line, a compact side-address mic in a rugged all-metal housing. Its cardioid pattern and transformerless circuit keep the low end clean and the top end open, which is why it shows up on cymbals, hi-hats and acoustic instruments as often as it does on overheads.
