BSS BLU-HIF Telephone Headset Interface
The BLU-HIF connects the headset jack of a VoIP or digital deskphone to an AEC input and an analog output on a Soundweb London device. The phone stays the dialling interface and the hybrid, which removes the programming a third-party control system would otherwise need and leaves the end user with a handset they already know how to use.
An RJ-22 jack takes the headset connection, a balanced Combicon input sends near-side audio and a balanced Combicon output receives far-side audio. Side-tone means near-side audio still appears on the receive channel, so BSS specifies feeding that channel to an AEC input rather than a plain analog input and letting the algorithm remove it. Headset jack wiring differs between phone manufacturers, so two cables with different 4P4C RJ-22 wiring cover the two most common configurations. An additional 2.5 mm jack brings in a cell phone as a backup path to the outside world. The chassis is metal and mounts to a surface or under a table.
