AKG HSC15 Conference Headset
The HSC15 is built for interpreter booths and conference rooms, where a headset is worn for hours by one person and then handed to the next. It weighs 108 grams, and the ear pads are designed to be wiped down with a hygienic tissue between users rather than replaced with expensive foam cushions, which is the running cost nobody budgets for. The bow is stainless spring steel, so it holds its shape over years of adjustment while still flexing to different wearing positions.
The microphone uses a slim omnidirectional condenser capsule, chosen because a delegate or interpreter will not always place the boom perfectly and an omni forgives that. Connection is two 3.5 mm jacks, the standard on most interpreter desks and equally at home on a laptop, on a soft TPU-covered 1.5 m cable that keeps structure-borne noise from traveling up into the capsule.
