Blackmagic Cintel Scanner G3 HDR+

The Cintel Scanner G3 HDR+ is a 4K film scanner built around a rubber capstan transport with cleaning rollers, which is what lets it run shrunken and damaged archive stock that a sprocket drive would tear. Native sensor resolution is 4096 x 3072, and the HDR light source adds up to three and a half stops on top of the twelve stop normal range for recovering detail out of dense negative.

It scans print, negative, interpositive and internegative in mono and color, and the two versions cover different gauge sets: the standard machine is supplied for 35mm and 16mm, and the 8/16 version for 8mm and 16mm. Run speed is 1 to 30 fps with shuttle to 100 fps on 35mm. Connection is Thunderbolt 3 to a Mac or Windows workstation running DaVinci Resolve, with HDMI monitoring and XLR audio and timecode. It draws 200W from 100 to 240V AC.
