Audix SCX25A Large-Diaphragm Studio Condenser Microphone
The SCX25A is a large-diaphragm studio condenser with an unusually compact, open head design. Its capsule is shock-mounted inside a machined brass ring and isolated from the body and electronics, which reduces internal reflections and standing waves - the sound is remarkably natural and uncolored for vocals, piano, acoustic guitar, and room miking.
The cardioid pattern provides up to 20 dB of ambient rejection while the minimal housing keeps the capsule acoustically transparent. It covers the full 20 Hz to 20 kHz range, handles 135 dB SPL, and runs on standard 48 to 52 V phantom power. A distinctive-looking, honest-sounding condenser that has become a studio favorite for overheads and orchestral work.
