Audio-Technica ATW-901a System 9 VHF Wireless System A budget-friendly VHF bodypack system bundled with the mic your act actually needs: guitar
System 9 is Audio-Technica's entry-level VHF wireless line, and the ATW-901a bundles pair the same ATW-R900a receiver and ATW-901a UniPak bodypack transmitter with whatever the job needs to plug into it: a guitar instrument cable for an instrumentalist, a PRO 8HEcW headworn condenser for a presenter who needs both hands free, or an omnidirectional lavalier for a clip-on interview mic. Four switchable VHF channels (169.505, 170.245, 171.045, and 171.905 MHz) let you run up to four of these systems in the same room without interference.
The non-diversity single-channel receiver uses an advanced dipole antenna design that adds a ground element to the usual signal element for better range in typical rooms, and it puts both balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4-inch outputs on the back panel for easy hookup to a mixer. The bodypack transmitter runs on two 1.5V AA batteries and covers a working range of about 200 ft in an open room with no interference.
