Allen & Heath SQ6

The SQ-6 sits in the middle of the SQ range, aimed at small-to-mid-size productions that need more hands-on control than the SQ-5 offers. The same 96kHz XCVI FPGA core drives 48 input channels to LR plus 12 stereo mixes and 3 stereo matrix, but the surface grows to 24+1 motorized faders, 24 onboard mic preamps and four assignable soft rotaries for tactile access to sends and processing. A 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with a drag-and-drop layout and at-a-glance metering keeps the workflow quick under pressure.

Local I/O runs 24 mic inputs on XLR and 16 assignable outputs (14 XLR plus 2 TRS) with a stereo AES3 digital output. Every channel and mix carries parametric EQ, a 28-band graphic EQ and a compressor, backed by eight RackExtra FX engines of classic reverbs, delays and modulators. The SQ-Drive records multitrack to USB, a 32 x 32 USB interface serves the DAW, and the SLink port expands the system across Allen & Heath's Everything I/O stageboxes.
