Whirlwind Medusa Standard Series Snake

The Medusa Standard is the snake most people picture when they think of Whirlwind. A heavy duty powder coated steel stage box with metal Whirlwind connectors and an integrated handle, wired with Whirlwind by Belden NEC CM rated multipair cable in which each pair carries two twisted 24 AWG 7x32 polyethylene insulated conductors with a 100 percent foil shield and a 24 AWG drain wire.

The details are where the years show. Fanouts get multiple layers of heavy heat shrink at the points that fail first, the connectors are engraved with numbers and letters rather than printed, a genuine Kellems wire mesh hanger supports the fanout at the board and a Kellems strain relief grip with an internal cable clamp takes the load at the box. Snakeskin covers the fanouts and a Pig Bag protects them in the truck. Standard fanout length is 3 ft up to 28 channels and 4 ft above that.
