Whirlwind HOTBOX Active Direct Box

The HOTBOX is the active direct box at the top of the Whirlwind DI line. Its front end is quiet and very wide, running to 150 kHz, which is what lets it pull the upper harmonics out of a bass or guitar with high output passive pickups instead of rounding them off.

It runs on two 9 V batteries or 48 V phantom, with an LED to confirm it is on and roughly 300 hours of battery life. The input switch selects OFF, ON, or ON with a 20 dB pad for line and speaker level sources, and the usual parallel 1/4 inch jacks and ground lift switch are on board.
