Universal Audio Teletronix LA-2A Classic Leveling Amplifier
The Teletronix LA-2A is the optical tube leveler that engineers reach for when a vocal or a bass needs to sit without sounding worked on. Its T4 electro-optical attenuator responds to program material rather than to a ratio control, giving a 10 millisecond attack and a two-stage release of roughly 60 milliseconds to half recovery and up to five seconds for the rest.
Gain is 40 dB with distortion under 0.5% THD and noise 70 dB below the +10 dBm output level. It is a 3U rackmount chassis with both Jones barrier terminals and XLR connectors, balanced for stereo interconnection, hand-built in the USA and backed by a one-year limited warranty.
