Tiffen 82mm UV Protector Filter

The UV Protector is the filter most people put on a lens the day they buy it and never take off. It protects the front element against dust, moisture, fingerprints, scratches and damage, and it does its job without leaving a fingerprint of its own on the image: it absorbs ultraviolet light and reduces the bluish cast of daylight, but adds no coloration and no contrast, so it can be paired with other filters without changing what they do.

Tiffen builds it on ColorCore glass - the substrate is laminated between two pieces of optical glass, ground flat to a tolerance of one ten-thousandth of an inch, then mounted into a precision ring - which is why a protection filter this inexpensive does not visibly soften a good lens. This is the 82mm screw-in size, and it fits the M82 x 0.75 front of the Fujinon XT17sx4.5BRM 17x ENG lens as well as any other lens with an 82mm thread. Made in the U.S.A.
