Tiffen 82mm Digital HT Ultra Clear Filter

Ultra Clear is protection without filtration. The 82HTDUC is a clear filter made from water white optical glass - glass with the iron content pulled out of it, so it passes light without tinting it - which means it can sit permanently on the front of a lens to catch dirt, grime, fingerprints and impact without shifting color balance or costing exposure. It is the filter you fit when you want the front element covered and the image left exactly alone.

The difference is in the coating. Tiffen's Digital HT layer is a Hi-Trans double-sided titanium multi-coating that exceeds military specification for hardness and durability, so the surface survives the repeated cleaning that a protection filter actually gets in the field. It is held in a low-profile titanium-finish ring with an anti-reflective black lock ring to keep it from vignetting on wide lenses, built on ColorCore glass, made in the U.S.A., and covered by a 10-year warranty. The 82mm thread fits the Fujinon XT17sx4.5BRM 17x lens and other 82mm fronts.
