Telex ICW-3 Window Intercom
The Telex Audiocom ICW-3 is a window-mount intercom for ticket booths, cashier windows, drive-ups and security desks - the two-way station that lets a clerk behind glass talk to the person on the other side without shouting or leaning into a slot. It runs full duplex with VOX (Voice Threshold Level Activation), so both sides can speak at once and neither gets clipped mid-sentence, and Telex's audio-shaping circuitry keeps voices intelligible over booth and street noise. The housing is a two-piece polycarbonate fiber resin package built to take years of public-facing abuse with no maintenance.
The operator side works two ways: a gooseneck microphone that leaves both hands free for a cash drawer or a screen, or a headset when privacy matters or several stations sit close together. Front-panel controls cover mic select, mute, VOX inside/outside and separate inside and outside volume. Mounting takes either one 2-1/2 inch hole or five smaller holes through the counter or glass. It runs on 12 to 15 VDC at 150 mA, and drives an internal speaker, an external speaker and a headphone output. Companion headsets are the PH-44-IC3 and PH-88-IC3; the matching goosenecks are the MCP 90-12 and MCP 90-18. The gooseneck microphone shown is not included.
