Sony NW-WM1ZM2 Signature Series Walkman Digital Music Player, 256 GB

The NW-WM1ZM2 is Sony's flagship Walkman. Its chassis is machined from oxygen-free copper and gold plated, a material chosen for the purity it lends the ground path, and its power supply takes cues from the DMP-Z1 desktop player with a large solid high-polymer capacitor assisting the amplifier and FT CAP3 capacitors throughout the audio block. The S-Master HX digital amplifier plays native DSD and delivers 250 mW per channel balanced or 60 mW per channel from the stereo mini jack.

Frequency response is 20 to 40,000 Hz, with DSEE Ultimate, a 10-band equaliser and DC Phase Linearizer available. It runs Android 11 on a 5.0-inch HD display with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, stores 256 GB (215 GB usable) plus microSD, and charges over USB-C in about 4.5 hours. The copper build brings the weight to about 490 g.
