Shure BETA52A

The Beta 52A is Shure's dedicated kick drum and bass instrument microphone, a dynamic capsule with a frequency response tailored to the low end and the click of a beater. The built-up bass and crisp attack in the presence range let a kick cut through a dense mix with little EQ, and the design holds together at extreme sound pressure levels without distorting.

A supercardioid pattern gives high gain before feedback and tight rejection of the rest of the kit, so a close-miked kick stays clean on a loud stage. An integral locking stand adapter with a built-in male XLR connector swivels into position and simplifies placement inside a drum, and the hardened steel grille and internal shock mount stand up to years of touring.
