Sennheiser MKE platinum-4-3-C Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone
The MKE Platinum-4-3-C is Sennheiser's subminiature omnidirectional lavalier tuned for demanding live work. Its 4.8 mm back-electret condenser capsule is deliberately built for reduced sensitivity, which gives it a very high 140 dB SPL ceiling and strong resistance to feedback and handling noise on a loud stage. The response is optimized for spoken and sung voice with extra treble headroom, so it stays clear and present under a wig, over a collar, or on a theater rig where the mic is hidden from view. The beige finish blends against skin and light costuming.
An ultra-thin 1.1 mm cable keeps the mic nearly invisible and easy to dress, terminating in a 3-pin LEMO connector that mates with Sennheiser SK 50, SK 250, and SK 5012 bodypack transmitters. The capsule is dual-diaphragm and sweat-resistant for reliability through long performances. The kit ships with the MKE Platinum-C clip-on microphone plus two acoustic frequency caps, the short MZC 2-1 and the long MZC 2-2, to tailor the presence peak to the application.
