sE Electronics DM3 Active Inline DI Box
The DM3 is a direct box that is not a box. It takes a 1/4 inch TRS jack from an instrument or a line source at one end and delivers a balanced 3-pin XLR at the other, in a 20 mm barrel that hangs off the cable instead of taking up floor space next to the pedals.
Three input settings accept up to 19, 34 or 49 dBV, so it handles a passive bass pickup and a speaker-level tap with the same device, and output noise sits at 1 microvolt. It is phantom powered at 48 V and draws 3.8 mA. A screwdriver for the setting switch, a keychain and the manual are in the box.
